Come and see the Independent on Sunday/ Bradt Travel Writing Competition awards ceremony at our store in London, with the winners announced on the night! See who will win the grand prize of a trip to Colombia and a commission from The Independent!

The theme this year is 'Destination Unknown' and the judge is Matthew Parris, journalist for The Times and writer of many books on travel (including the bestselling Inca Kola) and politics, and an autobiography - Chance Witness - for which he won the 2004 Orwell Prize.

The top prize is a fabulous holiday for two in Colombia courtesy of The Traveller and Colombia Tourist Office – Proexport, and a commission for an article to be published in The Independent on Sunday. For unpublished writers the prize is a travel writing course in Spain, courtesy of Travellers’ Tales.

The event is free to attend, but will be by invitation only. There are currently a limited number of places available, so if you would like to apply for a free invitation, please email debbie.hunter@bradtguides.com with the subject line: “Award Ceremony Invitation”. Invitations will be issued on a first come/first served basis.
